Te Awhi/Parenting (The Embrace)

It's old news, but we'll say it again: being a parent is hard work! That's why we run our Te Awhi (The Embrace) programme – to support the guardians of the young people involved in Challenge for Change.

Weekly group sessions provide guardians with an inclusive, relaxing space to discuss their parenting experiences and learn about strategies for managing challenges. Our coordinators Ruth and Toni remind us that these strategies can be reliable and structured, as well as adaptable and fun for all.

We acknowledge that we have to look after ourselves before we can look after others! Guardians are guided to workshop personal ways in which they can nurture their own physical, mental, spiritual, and social health consistently.

At its core, Te Awhi works to embed the positive effects of Challenge for Change by helping guardians to be the best role models they can be.

When: 6:00-8:00pm on Thursdays for 10 weeks

Where: BGI 3 MacDonald Crescent
